A lot has been made recently about housing affordability in respect to First Home Buyers.
The truth is that is no harder today than it was 20 or 30 years ago.
The real problem is that first home buyers are not prepared to move to affordable areas, and complain that they can’t afford to purchase in areas where they now live in their parent’s home.
What they choose to ignore is that their parents worked for many years to afford their current home (probably their 2nd or 3rd home in reality).
So the answer for First Home Buyers is to look to those areas where homes are affordable and possibly rent that property out, whilst they continue to live either at home or in a property that they in turn are renting in the area they prefer to live in.
